In the beginning of school we went into the morning circle. We talked about what we did on Tuesday. We also talked about what was our favorite Go Noodle dance/video. When we were done with the morning circle we went to get our stuff and go in the classroom.
Next, Mrs. Citizen told us to “get our chromebooks”. She also told us to get started with Front Row. We got our chromebooks and did what she said. Front Row is a math website where you answer math questions to get piggy coins, you get piggy coins so you can buy different items to decorate your animal.
After we did Frontrow for about 15 minutes we did another math project. This math project was comparing the thousandths place, we had to plan a scuba diving trip. We asked questions about what the project was and what to do in this project. Mrs. Citizen divided us into groups of 4 but one group had five people.
When we were done with the scuba diving project we did Writeabout.com. We learned our login username and password. We did a normal writing assignment for 20 minutes. We had to write about what smell brings back happy memories. Everyone had to write the assignment as a story. We also had to publish and share your story on the classroom page on Writeabout.com.
After that we went to the carpet so Mrs. Citizen could read us a story. She read the book Back To School Rules. The book talked about different rules. It had rules like don’t be late and have fun.
When she was done reading the whole story the whole class went out to recess. You can play a bunch of activities to do. You can play 4 square, kickball, punchball and soccer and those are just a few of them. Usually everyone gets water or goes to the restroom if they have to. That is what recess is for. Also at the end of recess there is a bell.
In addition to our book, We went into the class and made a tree map of classroom rules. We had to separate them from categories of safe, respect and responsible. We went into groups of six and it had to be three boys and three girls. When everyone got into groups of six we made a bigger tree map on a poster paper. You had to do the samething but this time Mrs. Citizen said “The whole group had to have a unanimous vote on the idea.” When we were done with ideas we had to pick five ideas that were our favorite. Mrs. Citizen pinned those to the walls as a poster and we moved on to the next thing.
After the tree maps we had to tell what we thought 9/11 was and if you don’t know what it was you had to make a guess. We got one article on two pages. We had to write what we knew about 9/11 on the back of one of those papers. Then we had to read the two pages and write down words that we didn’t understand on the back of the other page that we didn’t write on. When we wrote down the words on the article that we didn’t understand we had to search those words up on our chromebooks and write the definition down right next to where we wrote down the words. We went on to do a second read of the article and this time we had write what sentence or statement that we didn’t understand and write what you didn’t understand.
Next, we headed out to lunch. We went to go eat at the cafeteria. Some people buy lunch and some people bring lunch usually in the morning the teacher will ask who’s buying lunch. Then when procters excuse people they wait for us to get quiet and they will start leading people to the whole playground and field. At the five minute bell of recess that is a bell where it’s your last chance to get water or go to the restroom. Then the end of lunch bell will ring, that’s when you start getting in your lines and calming down so you can go back to class.
At the end of the day, we went in from recess. Since today is Wednesday we have early release at 1:20. When we went in we started cleaning up. We put away our chromebooks and tech folders. We had to go get the papers for Wednesday folder while someone passed out the Wednesday folders.
That was what we did during the day of 9/14/16’s.
