In the beginning we lined up in line order. We all waited for Mrs. Citizen to pick us up from our line. We all waited patiently for our teacher. Our class walked with our teacher to Room 33.
After, we got all our supplies we went inside and did math on our chromebooks. We did a website called Frontrowed.com. On the game if you answer correctly you earn coins to buy prizes. You can also solve a variety of math questions. When you get a certain amount of coins you can buy your pet items in the piggy store.
Next, we got our binders and tabs. We labeled the labels and put them in the binder. We slid the extra labels inside our binder pockets. We closed our binders and put them in our desks.
At the starting of recess, everybody went to play. Some people went on the field, others went to play at the playground, and blacktop. On the blacktop you could play basketball, foursquare, punch ball, tetherball and more. On the field you could play soccer kickball, football, tag, and lots more of different things. On the playground you could go on the monkeybars, the swings, and the slide.
Once recess was over we came inside and the teacher read a book to us. The book was called Roxaboxen. The book was about kids who have a small imaginary town called Roxaboxen. Roxaboxen was mostly made out of materials and items that had been scattered around the desert near town. The setting of the story was mostly in the desert of Arizona. This book was actually based on the adventures of the author's mother when she was young.
Once we finished reading Roxaboxen, Mrs. Citizen said we had to go into groups to make cup pyramids. Some groups finished earlier than other groups. When everyone finished, we had to write/explain what we had to do in our composition books. We also had to write how our group worked, what strategies worked, and what strategies that didn’t.
Afterwards, we read an article about Ancient pyramids. For the information that we already knew we highlighted the reading green. The part that we still have questions on we highlighted yellow. We would highlight the sections that we wouldn't understand red.
Then we took the bin to the lunch pavilion. When we finished we went to go play. Some people went to the field, blacktop, or playground. We lined up once recess was over for lunch. We ate food then lined up and went back in the classroom.
After lunch, we read 2 poems. Our classroom copied a line from each poem, and made a story by adding to the sentence we chose for 2 minutes. We chose one poem to expand and wrote continuously for 6 minutes. After 6 minutes, we dropped our pencils even if we weren’t done. When we put our writing books back we moved on to the next subject.
After writing, room 33 lined up to go to P.E. , (Physical Education). Since it was Friday, 5th and 4th grade all had free P.E. Some of us played soccer , punch ball, kickball, 4 square, etc. Our 35 minutes was a blast, we all can’t wait till next Friday!
At last at the end of the day, we got out of P.E. Room 33 got our agendas and wrote down our homework. When we finished , we packed up and put our stuff away waited for the bell to ring. When the bell rang, we went home.
